    Industry-leading resource WWD announced its list of Beauty's Most Powerful Brands in 2020, which featured Kosas Cosmetics. Per WWD, "Despite a very tough makeup market, Kosas is surging. The clean makeup brand founded by Sheena Yaitanes is as popular with celebs such as Paltrow and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, and its Tinted Face Oil was one of the most popular products on social media, according to Tribe Dynamics. The brand, a pioneer of the makeup-as-skin-care movement, has just launched its first actual skin care product: Chemistry Deodorant, an AHA-based serum format. Consider it a cult in the making."

    Over the past few months, Kosas, Nécessaire, Surface Deep, Maapilim and Drunk Elephant have launched deodorants with acids, especially AHA’s, in their ingredient profiles. Natural deodorants have been on the rise as consumers switched gears toward “no aluminum” products. Kosas’ Chemistry Deodorant, $15, launched in June and is clearly marketed as an “AHA Serum Deodorant,” including shikimic, mandelic and lactic acid.

    Clean Color Brand Kosas Leans Further into Personal Care

    Clean color cosmetics brand Kosas continues to bet on the personal care category. Following its hyaluronic lip balm launch last year, Kosas is debuting its first deodorant, containing alpha hydroxy acids, called Chemistry. The product, which is part of a Kosasport capsule along with its lip balm, will be a Credo and Kosas.com exclusive for two weeks, beginning June 30, and will then land on Sephora.com and in Sephora stores on July 14 and July 24, respectively. Five-year-old Kosas experienced a 409% year-over-year increase in sales in 2019, largely due to its Sephora partnership and “multi-tasker” product hits.
